Book Review: “Noggin”

The book Noggin by John Corey Whaley is a very interesting book. It is about a guy, Travis, who had his head removed and frozen because he had cancer in his lower body.

The book Noggin by John Corey Whaley is a very interesting book. It is about a guy, Travis, who had his head removed and frozen because he had cancer in his lower body. Five years later he is brought back to life when a donor body is found and they can finally perform the surgery. His new body is absolutely perfect and he’s in love with it.

But, when he comes back to life he has to deal with the reality that everything has grown five years older. He’s still stuck as a teenager in school whereas all of his friends are grown adults. His girlfriend, whom he was absolutely in love with, is engaged. He is struggling in school with friendlessness and with being five years older than everyone. He never would’ve thought getting a second chance in life would be this much of a struggle.

I really enjoyed this book because it shows how much people grow and mature. It also shows the struggles it takes when trying to live up to others expectations and it shows how life can be difficult under pressure. This book shows how keeping up with your friends in life is difficult, especially if they aged five years without you.

I would recommend reading this book because it is very interesting. It also teaches you important life lessons about how things change and how it’s sometimes a struggle to adjust to these changes.
