Having hobbies is a perfect way to keep yourself busy and have fun. They’re also very therapeutic and can help your mental health. Want to find some hobbies? Here are some ideas!
Cooking & Baking
It may be time consuming, but it’s fun! And, a delicious treat will be waiting for you when you’re finished. There are so many YouTube videos out there to guide you on recipes for almost everything. You will feel good about eating something when you know exactly what you put in it!
Painting & Drawing
Art is different for everyone. There’s no right or wrong way to do it. Drawing and painting can take your mind off of things. It’s a place where you can be creative because there isn’t a specific way to do it. If you want to be inspired, there are a lot of artists who make video tutorials.
Jewelry Making
Jewelry making is a great way to pass time at home while doing something fun. You can make meaningful jewelry that represents yourself and you can even start your own business online and sell your jewelry!
Photography
Have you ever had a moment where you wished you could capture it on a camera? Well, photography is a great way to do this! It’s enjoyable and a great way to get out in nature and see Earth’s beauty.
Pottery
Shaping clay into any form you want is pottery. After your clay is furnaced, you don’t have to be done! You can still paint it. Pottery is not only calming, but also improves attention span and hand-eye coordination. Plus, your pottery can be used as a mug, vase, plate, or whatever you chose to mold it into!
Sewing
Sewing is a great way to help take your mind off your problems. You don’t only have to sew using a machine, you can also sew by hand. If you can’t think of anything to sew, some popular ideas include masks, icons, bags, or clothes. The clothes you sew can be a great way to express your style.
Gardening
Planting a garden adds bright colors or can even provide fresh vegetables or fruits to the world. Don’t want to buy fruits or veggies? Plant your own! All you need to have is a shovel, seeds, soil, water, and gloves. You can watch your plants grow from a seed to food ready to harvest in a matter of weeks. Plus, it’s good for the environment!
Reading
Reading takes you to a new world. Reading about the problems of the character in your book can take your mind off of your own. Reading is super relaxing especially when done for fun, rather than school assignment. If you think reading is boring, then you’ve probably never found a book you actually like. You can read on paper or even digitally. You can even listen to audiobooks online.
Yoga
Feeling stressed? Having a bad day? Try yoga! It’s a perfect way to get your mind off of anything. It helps with your blood flow and makes you feel calm. Classes can be expensive but luckily, there’s many YouTube videos that you can follow along with.
Learn a Language
People who speak more than one language have improved memory, enhanced concentration, ability to multitask, and better listening skills. If you’re looking to travel in the future, learning another language is really helpful in doing so. Popular languages you can try learning include French, Spanish, Arabic, German, Italian, Russian, Mandarin and tons more!
Play a Sport
Have you ever played a sport and ended up not liking it? Well luckily there are other sports you can try out and find what’s best for you. Popular sports include Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Field Hockey, Tennis, Baseball, Softball, etc. Playing a sport helps build stronger bones and muscles, reduces your risk of heart disease, and more.
Play an Instrument
It’s never too late to pick up an instrument. Playing an instrument can improve hand-eye coordination, boost your memory, and sharpen your concentration. There are a wide variety of instruments to choose from, all with their own unique sound.
