Midterms: A Poem
A poem written by a guest author for The Panther Eye.
Midterms are the exams
That we take in the middle of the school year
And we all dread them,
But that means
We are already half way
Through the school year.
We are one more half a school year
Closer to being a sophomore,
A junior,
A senior
Or even on our way to college.
It’s scary when you think about it,
The time is flying by.
Soon it will be spring.
Then summer.
And before we all know it,
Another school year will be starting.
So even though we hate midterms,
And are stressing out over college applications,
SATs, driving tests,
And even homework,
We need to slow down before the time is gone.
Like Ferris Bueller says,
“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
Shannon is a junior at Sweet Home High School.
